Effects of Tilt/Shift control Techniques

The lens is tilted as shown in the illustration to make the back ground out of focus keeping the horse in focus.

The lens is focused on the tulip flowers in the center of the frame. - • Tilt
The lens is tilted as shown in the illustration to focus only on the tulip flowers row and to leave the rest of subject out of focus.
- By controlling tilt technique, you can put the back and the fore ground into Bokeh effect by keeping the helicopter in the center row in focus at the same time.
- • Normal
The lens faces straight to the main subject at a normal working distance. - • Tilt
By using tilt, the depth of field is increased to put the entire area in focus even for close up shooting.
- • Macro
In case of macro shooting, the depth of field is usually very shallow. The photo shows the focus is on the center of image, leaving the rest of area out of focus.
- • Tilt
By tilting the lens, as shown in the illustration, the depth of field can be increased.
- • Normal The camera is pointed directly toward the buildings.
- • Shift By using rise toward the buildings as shown in the illustration, the vertical distortion can be corrected.
- • Normal When capturing the image of glass pane by placing the camera in front of it, the reflected image of the camera itself shows up unavoidably.
- • Shift By shifting the lens to either right or left as shown, you can prevent capturing the reflected image of the camera, with almost no change in framing.
